How crossplay works on PS5

Here is how co-op works for PlayStation 5 players climbing with friends on other platforms:

  • Friends-only lobbies: crossplay runs through friends-only lobbies — you climb with people you invite, not open matchmaking.
  • Up to 4 players: groups are capped at four players across the supported platforms.
  • Room codes: share a room code with your group so everyone lands in the same session.
  • No cross-save: progress does not carry over between platforms.
  • Mods may break console lobbies: PC mods can make a lobby incompatible for console players, so turn mods off when playing with PS5 friends.
  • PS Plus needed for online co-op on PS5: a PlayStation Plus subscription is required to play online co-op on PS5.
