Battlefield 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 13, 2026, with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass listed as the eligible plans. Xbox’s announcement includes cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you were about to buy it just to join your friends, check your subscription first.
The useful part of this announcement is figuring out what you can actually play on your own setup. “On Game Pass” can sound like a universal answer, but the plan and platform still matter.
When does Battlefield 6 join Game Pass?
The October 7 Xbox Wire announcement gives October 13 as the arrival date. As of this article’s October 8 publication, that date is still ahead. The announcement does not specify an exact regional unlock hour.
Plan your squad night around checking the actual listing when access opens. A calendar date is useful; promising everyone a particular minute without an official unlock schedule is a good way to spend the evening staring at a store page.
Which Game Pass plans include Battlefield 6?
| Plan | What the announcement confirms |
|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | Included in the October 13 arrival |
| PC Game Pass | Included in the October 13 arrival |
| Game Pass Premium or Essential | Not listed for this addition |
Use that specific listing when deciding whether to subscribe or change plans. Another game arriving in the same update can have different eligibility.
PC players: check your EA app and linked account
EA’s Game Pass support guide says Ultimate and PC Game Pass include EA Play, with PC access through the EA app on Windows. PC Game Pass provides PC benefits; it does not become a console subscription because a game is also available on Xbox.
For Ultimate members setting up Windows access for the first time, EA advises signing into the Xbox PC app with the Xbox account and launching an EA Play game through it. Have the EA app ready, and follow the account-linking prompts carefully.
You can inspect existing links in the Connected Accounts section of your EA Account settings, as explained in EA’s account-linking guide. Do that before creating a fresh account just because you cannot remember your old login. Sorting out which account you use is a better first step than adding another one to the pile.
EA also distinguishes EA Play from EA Play Pro: Pro is not included with Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Do not assume a Game Pass benefit unlocks everything advertised under a different membership.
What kind of game are you getting?
EA’s Battlefield 6 overview describes a shooter combining infantry, vehicles, squad classes, and destruction, with a campaign alongside multiplayer modes such as Conquest and Breakthrough. If your group wants a battlefield with several jobs to do, rather than everyone chasing the same corridor fight, that is the appeal to investigate.
The timing also lands during an evolving game. In its October 1 Season 5 outlook, EA discusses planned vehicle balancing, attachment tuning, and REDSEC improvements, including reconnect functionality. Those are development plans subject to change. Read the released update notes before treating any proposed improvement as a feature already working in your match.
Before you tell everyone to install it
- Check each friend’s subscription and platform separately.
- On PC, settle the EA app login and account link before the session.
- Look at the current installation requirements instead of relying on an old download-size post.
- Check the live game listing on arrival day for access and regional availability.
Our take: subscription access makes it easier to organize a first session, but the best preparation is boring and practical. Get the accounts right, make sure everyone has access, and leave time for the download.
