Information you provide
If you email us, we receive the email address, message and any information you choose to include. We use that information to handle the inquiry or correction. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or payment details.
If you leave a comment, WordPress collects the information shown in the comment form, along with an IP address and browser user-agent information used to help moderate abuse. Your comment and display name may be public after approval; your email address is not displayed as part of the comment.
Google Analytics and Search Console
New Game Wire uses Google Analytics, connected through Site Kit by Google, to understand how the site is used. Analytics can collect page views and interactions, referring pages, browser and device characteristics, approximate geographic information and cookie-based identifiers. Google processes this information to provide reports about site activity. Analytics does not give us your Google account password or private Google account content.
We also use Google Search Console to understand search visibility, including search queries, clicks and impressions reported by Google. Search Console reporting is different from a visitor-facing tracking cookie.
Learn more about Google Analytics data safeguards, Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Google may process information on servers outside your country.
Cookies and browser choices
WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in and related site functions. If you choose to save your comment details, WordPress can store those details in browser cookies for convenience. Analytics can use separate cookies to measure site activity.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. Blocking cookies may affect some site features.
Hosting, security and external services
Our hosting and delivery services process requests needed to provide and protect the website, such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information. Cloudflare is used for delivery and security. Comments or sign-in attempts may be processed by the site’s security tools. These operational records are separate from public article content.
If a page includes embedded content from another website, that provider may receive information about your visit and apply its own cookie and privacy settings. Following an external link takes you to a site whose policies we do not control.
Article videos, Steam activity and community links
Article videos use click-to-load YouTube players. Before you press Play, the video panel does not load a YouTube player or thumbnail. Pressing Play connects your browser to YouTube through youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube and Google may then receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details and viewing interactions, and their privacy policies apply. You can also follow the separate YouTube link.
Steam player panels request public concurrent-player figures through our website. Our server contacts the Steam Web API and caches the result; the panel does not send your WordPress identity or Analytics reports to Steam. Following a Steam store link connects your browser directly to Steam.
Reddit discussion summaries are editorial text with links to public threads. They do not load Reddit embed scripts. Following a Reddit link connects your browser to Reddit, where its own privacy policy applies.
Retention and access
Comments and their associated metadata can remain until removed; correspondence is kept as needed to handle the inquiry and maintain relevant editorial records. Analytics retention and processing are governed by the property’s settings and Google’s service policies. We do not promise that all providers use the same retention period.
The site administrator can access information stored in WordPress and the connected reporting accounts. The reporting dashboard is restricted to the owner’s authenticated WordPress account.
Questions and personal-information requests
Email [email protected] to ask about personal information associated with your comments or correspondence, or to request access, correction or deletion where applicable. We may need enough information to verify and locate the request. Some records may need to be retained for security, administrative or legal reasons.
Changes
We update this page when the site’s data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
